About Breaking Limits
In December 2020, Sander, the ambitious founder of Breaking Limits, took the leap into the e-commerce world with his own webshop. After a double leg break, he realized that an athlete's mindset is not only about highs, but also how to come back after a low.
Although the initial growth did not take off immediately due only to Facebook ads linking to his webshop, he saw an uptick when he began offering his products on Bol.com in March 2021. This success tasted like more and soon he expanded to Belgium, and then through Amazon Breaking Limits expanded to Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and now even the United States.
Logistical challenges for Breaking Limits
However, growth was not without its challenges. The company encountered several logistical challenges, mainly in shipping products from China to Europe. Initially, Sander sent only a few boxes - no more than 5 to 10 at a time - directly from the Chinese supplier to the Netherlands. However, this process turned out to be an additional revenue model for the supplier and caused many communication problems. A Chinese supplier is not a professional freight forwarder, and communicating is difficult if you don't speak the same language.
In addition, Sander wasted valuable time waiting for pickups for shipments from Amazon, which often did not go according to plan. This cost him time, because he did have to be present in his warehouse to pass the boxes along to Amazon's courier.
In addition, Sander had experiences with other Dutch forwarders, where he was regularly faced with a time-consuming process of constant emailing and calling before his shipment was finally fully arranged. This added to the frustration and lost time in his operations. For each shipment, he had to submit information multiple times, which could actually be done in one go. This created a sense of unease.

Future prospects and areas for improvement
Despite the many benefits, Sander sees room for improvement in adding fulfillment work as a service from Cargomate. In particular, being able to send products with different sizes individually from one box. Currently, these are only B2B shipments and Cargomate only sends boxes, not individual pieces. This would be another step in further simplifying the logistics process for Breaking Limits.
Dream goal
Sander has big plans for the future. He dreams of distributing content in the form of interviews, blogs, videos about people who have made a comeback in the sports world after a setback. These may be athletes who return to the Olympics after a serious injury, an athlete who has started fanatically in the gym again after a setback, or someone who manages to finish a marathon when it may not have been at all obvious to that person. In short, returning from a low point is just as important as striving for high performance or pushing limits.
He plans to share these inspiring stories via social media or even in a podcast, to motivate others and show that limits can be pushed, both in sports and in business.
